Cyber Alert Volunteer

Join our advocacy team and support Habitat and affordable housing when bills or legislation come up on a local or national level. Add your name and email to our list and you will be notified when you can take action to contact your state and national representatives to support affordable housing. Time Commitment: On-call; volunteers will receive action alerts via email.

Legislative Ambassador

You will create a closer connection between elected officials and MHFH through increased communication and personal contact, generating stronger relationships and understanding of the need for housing. Time Commitment: One pre-session training event; plus committee meetings, activities and events: 2-5 hours/month.

Cookie Baker

Share your baking skills with us! We use volunteer-made cookies to thank volunteers on our construction sites, in the office and for other occasions. Add your name and email to our list and you will be contacted when we are in need of cookies. Cookies are delivered to our office.Time Commitment:On-call with no minimum commitment; opportunities available throughout the year.

Dedications Committee (Positions open as needed)

The Dedications Committee plans a celebration for Habitat staff, new homeowners and volunteers for each home we complete.Time Commitment:First Tuesday of each month; evening and weekend availability required.

Events Team

Join the Events Team to help out with several large events that Habitat puts on each year. Add your name and email to our list and you will be notified when these opportunities become available.Time Commitment:On-call, with evening and weekend availability preferred.

Landscaping Volunteer

Help plant shrubs and native grasses at completed homes. Add your name and email to our list and you will be contacted when specific opportunities become available.Time Commitment:On-call with no minimum commitment; opportunities available in the spring and fall. Age Requirement: 14+; minors must be accompanied by someone 21+ years old.

Family Services

Home Interviewer

Help Muskogee Habitat staff interview applicant families to determine eligibility for our Homeownership Program. Interviews are always conducted by teams of two. Training and support is provided. Time Commitment: Minimum of two years, with a minimum of seven interviews annually. Daytime availability preferred.

Outreach Volunteer

Expand our ability serve more families. You’ll provide information at events and information fairs to encourage applications to our Homeownership Program, A Brush With Kindness Program and Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention Program. Training and support is provided. Time Commitment: Flexible; evening and weekend availability preferred.

Neighborhood Family Partner

Help welcome Habitat families to their new neighborhood and support them during their first year as homeowners. Knowledge of homeownership responsibilities and basic home maintenance is preferred. Time Commitment: One year. Volunteers complete quarterly check-ins with the family; scheduling is flexible.

Training and Events Assistant

Not currently recruiting. Prepare materials, set up for orientations and training’s and assist Habitat applicant families with necessary applications and files. Training and support is provided. Time Commitment: Flexible; evening and weekend availability preferred.

ReStore

Minimum age for all ReStore positions is 16 years of age or 14 years of age with an adult supervisor age 21 or older.

Customer Assistant

Greets customers, answers the phone, answers customer questions and assists them in making purchases, assists ReStore employees in maintaining a clean and attractive store. Time Commitment:One 4-hour shift/week for at least 6 months.

Merchandise Assistant

Assists ReStore employees in maintaining a clean and attractive store, accepts and sorts donations, prints price tags and shelves inventory, loads and unloads vehicles. Time Commitment:One 4-hour shift/week for at least 6 months.

Support Volunteer

Assists ReStore employees in maintaining a clean and attractive store, performs small repairs, sorts donations, prints price tags and shelves inventory, assists customers in making purchases, loads and unloads vehicles.Time Commitment: Flexible. Weekly, with minimum of one half-day/week.

Volunteer Supervisor

Lead volunteers in projects at our ReStore! Assist the ReStore staff in supervising volunteers as they complete various tasks: maintaining a clean and attractive store, sorting donations, pricing stock and placing inventory, loading and unloading vehicles. Time Commitment:One 4-hour shift/week for at least 6 months.

Office Volunteer

Volunteers in our office complete projects like data entry, filing or large mailings. Add your name and email to our list, and you will be contacted when we need volunteers.Time Commitment:On-call; weekday business hour availability required.
